Goutorbe-Bouillot Rétrospective 00-13
This perpetual reserve was produced 20 years ago using only Chardonnay. Produced in tiny numbers it is released every year, the youngest vintage being the last two numbers on the label '13'. Compared to it's older sibling it shows a lot more floral notes to the front end keeping very strict and fresh. The palate links up this with a delicate touch of tropical fruits and a hint of pastry creating a nicely balanced and long finish.
House Profile
Both the Goutorbe and Bouillot family have a history of winemaking dating back to the early 18th century but they came together in the 1930s when Pierrette Bouillot and Jules Goutorbe married. The house is now managed by Dominique and Bastien and they look after 8 hectares, under both HVE and VD in the village of Damery. The wines show a lovely play of freshness alongside a brilliant touch of maturity.
